Smiles Gift Bag

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! Looking forward to a little fun at work today - I'm one of a few who will be showing up in costume! Hope you have something fun planned! It's time for another challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges and I'm totally stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #102 - Anything Goes with optional Anything But A Card! We're being sponsored this time by Polkadoodles, so come on over and play with us! I was chomping at the bit to make another gift bag so I went with a jungle theme this time to compliment the image I chose, and am really loving how this turned out!

I chose the absolutely adorable Polkadoodles 'Sticks & Bones - Smile/ Photograph/ Dinosaur ' digi that I paired with some fun cheetah print paper. I used a couple stitched dies and added some mini brads and vintage buttons. How cute is this?! :)

Using some ball chain, I hung a couple sentiment tags on one of the handles.

Here are shots of the side and back. I thought the scalloped border around the top edge was a cute touch. And the paper actually looks like it has a raised nap to it! I've had this paper in my stash so long that I don't remember what brand it is.

And one final angled view of the front. Love, love, love! ;)

Happy to enter this fun gift bag into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Black Onyx cardstock, Stampin' Up! Smoky Slate and Basic Gray cardstock scraps, Cheetah Print papers (brand unknown) Stamps: Polkadoodles 'Sticks & Bones - Smile/ Photograph/ Dinosaur ' digi, Paper Smooches Sweet Escapes stamp set
  • Ink: Spectrum Noir- IG4, IG5, IG8, TN1, LV3, PL4, GB3, GB4, CG2, LG3, LG5, FS7; Memento Tuxedo Black ink

  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Glossy Accents, White fun foam, Stampin' Up! Mini Brads, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ball Chain (for tags)

Be sure to check out all the fun goodies at Polkadoodles! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Let's Celebrate

Hi everyone! Well, my gig as an October guest designer for MHK Designs is sadly coming to an end. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed sharing my projects with you over the last several days. I know you'll agree that all of the sets released are fantastic, along with the awesome paper packs!

This is Day 5 of the October Release and I have a fun New Year's card to share using the super awesome vintage 'New Years Greetings' digital stamp set. I absolutely love a red and black color combo - one of my favorites actually - and this card has just enough red with the black to make it pop. I printed the image, background paper and inside sentiment on white antique linen cardstock and layered it on black cardstock.

The background paper is from MHK Designs 'Well Suited Patterned Papers' digital paper pack. Isn't it awesome?! I added a couple musical note die cuts, several white sequins and a massive crocheted flower! OMG, I love it!

I kept the inside simple with a sentiment from the set and layered the panel on the black cardstock.

I'm happy to enter this fun card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White cardstock, GKD Cherry Red cardstock scrap, Marco's White Antique Linen cardstock, Marco's Black cardstock, MHK Designs 'Well Suited Patterned Papers' digital paper pack
  • Stamps: MHK Designs 'New Years Greetings' digital stamp set
  • Dies/Punches: Paper Smooches Musical Notes dies
  • Accessories: Crocheted flower from stash, white Doodlebug Design sequins

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Be sure to check out the new releases at the MHK Designs store! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Trick or Treat

** 10/25/16 Top 3 Winner at Cardz 4 Guyz! **

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day - hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! Hope you are enjoying some cooler weather wherever you are. We've had a couple weeks of gorgeous weather and I'm not complaining at all! It's time for another fun challenge over at Let's Craft and Create, and I'm stoked to share my mid-month DT inspiration project for Challenge #118 - Halloween or Fall/Autumn! You know I'm a sucker for fancy folds and I've created my first-ever standing box card which I thoroughly enjoyed creating.

The cardstock, paper, stamps and dies are all from Stampin' Up! and I'm in love with how this turned out! I created my own background for the standing portion of this card and used Crystal Drops - one of my new favorite things in my crafty stash - and a little clear Wink of Stella on the open stars.

Here's a shot of the bottom box portion of the card. Did I mention how much I love this?! LOL!

And here's one more shot from a different angle. So, so much fun! I definitely see more of these in my future, lol! :)

And the best part is... it folds flat for mailing! Ta-da! :)

Proud to enter this fun fold into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black cardstock, Stampin' Up! Pretty Petals DSP
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! Howl-o-ween Treats and Balloon Celebrations stamp sets
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Tangelo Twist ink, Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Dies/Punches: Stampin' Up! Boo To You Framelits

Season's Greetings

Hey, friends! I'm still kickin' it as an October guest designer for MHK Designs and I'm having an absolute blast sharing projects with you each day as the new digi sets are released! We're on the fourth release and we have one more to go. So glad you're hanging in with us... I hope you're in love with all the sets released like I am! :)

This is Day 4 of the October Release and I have an elegant 3-D holiday card to share with you, one I created with the 'Perfect Poinsettias' digi set. This is my favorite of all the cards I've created for the October releases. I'm thrilled with how pretty this turned out; it's almost realistic. I printed the image twice on white antique linen cardstock and colored them both. I used one of them as the base which I cut with a stitched circle die, then fussy cut all the leaves from the second colored image and attached each leaf separately.

As you know, I'm in love with my stitched dies and layered the base image on another one cut from gold Glimmer paper. Sadly, this was the 'last hoorah' for my Eyelet Lace punch, though... it jammed and won't punch anymore. But at least I got one last pretty punched background that I layered on red cardstock. The front and inside sentiments were also printed on white antique linen cardstock and I cut the front sentiment into a double fishtail banner and adhered it beneath the poinsettia.

Here's a shot from a different angle so you can see the dimension. So pretty! :)

I layered the inside sentiment on red cardstock and embellished it with a strip of the gold Glimmer paper, then layered the entire panel on more of the red cardstock.

Proud to enter this sparkly Christmas card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Cherry Red cardstock, Marco's  White Antique Linen cardstock, Stampin' Up! Gold Glimmer paper
  • Stamps: MHK Designs 'Perfect Poinsettias' digital stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black dual tip marker, Zig Clean Color Geranium Red, Wine Red, Medium Green and Olive Green
  • Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers dies, Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch
  • Accessories: Gold hex nail art

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Be sure to check out the new releases at the MHK Designs store! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Deck the halls

** 10/20/16 Winner at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog! **

Hello, crafty friends! As you well know by now, I'm an October guest designer for MHK Designs and am having such a good time sharing projects with you as the new digi sets are released! This is the third release and we have two more to go. I hope you have enjoyed the previous two releases as much as I have! Stay tuned because the fun isn't over yet! ;)

This is Day 3 of the October Release and I have a fun holiday shaker card to share with you, one I created with the 'Wonderful Wreath' digi set. OMG, I'm such a sucker for shaker cards and this wreath just screamed 'shaker' to me!  I printed the image and front sentiment on white antique linen cardstock and used green cardstock for layering.

The gingham background paper is from MHK Designs 'Ginham in Rustics' digital paper pack, also printed on white antique linen cardstock, which really adds a festive feel to this card. I cut a white circle die cut to place behind the wreath so the green and red sequins could be easily seen. No other embellishments were used.

I kept the inside simple with a sentiment from the set and layered the panel on the green cardstock.

Happy to enter this sweet card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Garden Green cardstock, Marco's White Antique Linen cardstock, Crafter's Companion clear cardstock, MHK Designs 'Gingham in Rustics' digital paper
  • Stamps: MHK Designs 'Wonderful Wreath' digital stamp set
  • Ink: Spectrum Noir- LG5, CG4 CR11, DR5
  • Dies/Punches: Spellbinders Classic Circles die
  • Accessories: Doodlebug Design red and green sequins, Darice gold sequins

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Be sure to check out the new releases at the MHK Designs store! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

'Tis The Season

** 10/23/16 Top 3 at Come and Get it Challenges! **

Hi everyone! A very happy Monday to you! Hope you had a great weekend - mine was busy and went by waaaay too fast! It's time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I'm really happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #88 - Anything Goes! We're being sponsored this time by DRS Designs, Doodle Pantry and Lemon Shortbread Digi Stamps, so come on over and play with us for a chance to win an awesome prize!

I created a Christmas card in non-traditional monochrome using the pretty Lemon Shortbread 'Winter Snow Muff Shoujo' digital image. This card came together insanely fast - probably one of the quickest cards I've ever made. I had my image colored, picked out my coordinating cardstock and papers, and grabbed the dies I wanted to use, and *poof* it was basically made, lol! I LOVE it when that happens!

Isn't this image just gorgeous?! I'm really in love with my double stitched dies, and I also used some new stitched banner dies that I hadn't used yet. I've created several cards lately without bows (yes, I know, not like me at all) so I had to add my signature bow to this one. And was very happy to find ribbon that matched my cardstock and papers almost exactly, lol!

I embellished the inside with a scrap of the dotted paper from the front, stamped the sentiments and layered the panel on coordinating cardstock.

I'd love to enter this sweet card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock, Stampin' Up! Whisper White thick cardstock, Stampin' Up! Marina Mist cardstock, Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Stamps: Lemon Shortbread 'Winter Snow Muff Shoujo' digi, Stampin' Up! Versatile Christmas stamp set
  • Ink: Spectrum Noir- FS3, BT2, BT3, BT4, CT1, CT2, IG2, IG3, IG4; Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Dies/Punches: Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Ovals dies, JustRite Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles die set
  • Accessories: Prairie Bird Boutique teal wrinkled ribbon, Stampin' Up! Rhinestones

I hope you've enjoyed this project and have found some inspiration to play in our challenge this time - we know the Anything Goes theme is a crowd pleaser! Be sure to check out all the fun goodies at DRS DesignsDoodle Pantry and Lemon Shortbread! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

You're a classic!

** 11/4/16 Top 3 at artbymiran Challenge! **

Hi everyone! As I mentioned yesterday, I'm an October guest designer for MHK Designs and having a wonderful time as new digi sets are released over the course of five days! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's release as much as I did! And I hope you stick around to see them all... you definitely won't be disappointed!

This is Day 2 of the October Release and I have a masculine card to share with you, a vintage Father's Day card created using the 'Various Vehicles' digi set. All the images in this set are so crisp and clean they don't require any coloring. I printed the old car image on ivory antique linen cardstock and layered it on black cardstock.

The gingham background paper is from MHK Designs 'Ginham in Rustics' digital paper pack, also printed on ivory antique linen cardstock, which coordinates beautifully with the dark chocolate cardstock layered behind the focal image. I played with Crystal Drops which I'm really loving these days. Brads, buttons, a vintage key and twine are the only other embellishments used.

I layered the inside sentiment on some of the gingham paper and layered it on the brown cardstock.

Proud to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Dark Chocolate cardstock, Stampin' Up! Soft Suede cardstock, MHK Designs 'Gingham in Rustics' digital paper
  • Stamps: MHK Designs 'Various Vehicles' digital stamp set
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! silver mini brads, Dark Walnut Crystal Drops, vintage key, 3 Girl Jam vintage buttons, twine

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Be sure to check out the new releases at the MHK Designs store! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

** 10/18/16 Top Pick at Sunny Day Crafting! **

Hi everyone! Woot-woot! I have some awesome news to share... I'm an October guest designer for MHK Designs and I'm so stoked that I get to share a card with you each day during the October Release! How awesome is that?! You are really going to love the new sets released over the next five days! You are going to fall madly in love, five times over, lol! ;)

This is Day 1 of the October Release and I've created a fun card using the 'Chicken In' digital stamp set. Love, love, love this set! All of the releases this week have a nice vintage feel! I printed the images and front sentiment on ivory antique linen cardstock and layered them all on black cardstock.

The gingham background paper is from MHK Designs 'Ginham in Rustics' digital paper pack, also printed on ivory antique linen cardstock. I think it's the perfect compliment to these vintage images! The only embellishments I used were yellow gemstones.

I kept the inside simple with a sentiment from the set and layered the panel on black cardstock.

Happy to enter this adorable friendship card into the following challenges:

Recipe:

Falling Leaves

Hi everyone! I have been one busy girl. Have been spending a good bit of time crafting and working ahead on various design team projects. And this temps here in north Florida has been glorious... definitely 'open-window' weather! It's time for another fun challenge over at Crafty Friends and I'm really excited to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #42 - Autumn Colors! Come on over and play for a chance to win some awesome prizes! As always, we have some really amazing sponsors:

I chose 'Image 757' from Sherri Baldy "Besties" Digi Stamps which is two super cute sweeties playing a large pumpkin. It doesn't get any cuter than this, lol! I paired this adorable image with some fun Fall-themed papers and ephemera. I layered all the elements on brown cardstock and used a large resin bow instead of a ribbon bow this time. Something a little different.

I thoroughly enjoyed coloring this image and cut it with a new double-stitched die. All the little candy pieces have clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer, and the tiny pink flowers and her hair bow have Glossy Accents on them. :)

For the inside, I used a couple strips of leftover paper from the front, stamped a sentiment and layered the panel on the brown cardstock.

I'm happy to enter this Autumn/Fall themed card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock, Stampin' Up! Whisper White and Chocolate Chip cardstock, papers and Fall ephemera from Polly's Paper Studio Fall Harvest Creativity Kit
  • Stamps: Sherri Baldy "Besties" Digi Stamps 'Image 757', Stampin' Up! 'A Happy Thing' stamp set
  • Ink: Spectrum Noir- FS2, FS3, FS6, OR1, OR2, CT4, EB3, PP2, IB2, DG2, DG3, IG1, CR11; Spectrum Noir Aqua- Rose Pink, Blossom, Begonia, Bud Green, Marigold and Jasmine
  • Dies/Punches:
  • Accessories: Clear Wink of Stella, Gold Wink of Stella, Freckled Fawn Large Resin Bow, GKD Fresh Asparagus Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Up! Pearls

Hi everyone! I have some pretty awesome news to share! I'm a guestie over at Craft for the Craic for the next 12 months! Woo-hoo! So looking forward to crafting with these talented Irish ladies! We are cranking out a new challenge this morning - Autumnal Twist in which you must use a kraft product or kraft color. Come on over and play with us... for the craic! As the blog name suggests, "craic" is an Irish term for fun/enjoyment! :)

You know I am a fancy fold fiend and I wanted to create something really awesome for my debut guest designer inspiration project. I created a twisted accordion pop-up fold which was absolutely one of the most fun cards I've ever created! I used papers, stamps and dies from the new 'Painted Autumn' StampTV kit which are undoubtedly some of the most gorgeous papers and stamps ever! :D

I created the card base and the accordion mechanism inside with Stampin' Up! Kraft cardstock because it is a good weight but not too heavy. The leaf paper and Red Velvet cardstock, along with all the stamped images are from GKD. Even the acorn dies! The diamond border was cut with a Sizzix border die which I 'blinged up' with Stampin' Up! Rhinestones.

Here's a shot of the card lying flat just prior to opening.

Pardon my fingers as I begin to open it. The twisted accordion is taking shape! ;)

Ta-da! Here it is, fully open with a horizontal row of fun Fall-themed stamped images on layered panels! Love, love, love!

One final shot of it completely closed and ready to slide into an envelope for mailing. You can even see the slight shimmer on the acorns! :)

Proud to enter this fun fold into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Kraft cardstock, GKD Red Velvet cardstock, GKD Give Thanks 6x6 patterned paper
  • Stamps: GKD Give Thanks stamp set
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Early Espresso ink; Spectrum Noir- OR1, OR2, DG2, DG3, CR11, TN2, GB8, GB10, BP1, IG4, IG6, IG8; Spectrum Noir Solar Red Sparkle
  • Dies/Punches: GKD Give Thanks die set
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella

Hope you've enjoyed this project and have found a little inspiration to create an Autumn/Fall project for our challenge this month... just for the craic! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie

It's time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I'm absolutely thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #87 - Go Pink! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we saw it only fitting to create some pink projects! Our sponsors this time are Angie's Digital StampsThe East Wind and Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Come on over and play!

I chose the absolutely adorable Lacy Sunshine Stamps 'Lil Boo's XoXo' digi for my Hugs & Kisses Gift Bag. I had the b.e.s.t. time creating this and have plans to create another one soon, so stay tuned... it'll be a different color and pattern! ;) This little sweetie was best dressed in soft pink jammies and I knew I had the perfect color of cardstock and papers to use that coordinated so well.

I used a couple dies from a Labels set that I've had for quite a while and just never seem to use. The butterflies are from a new set of dies. I scalloped the ends of the handles with a scalloped oval punch. And these buttons just screamed 'use me', lol! They were perfect! ;)

Here's a view of one side...

A view of the back...

And a view of the other side...

And finally, a view of the inside. My plan is to put an assortment of all occasion cards in this for a nice gift. :)
