thanks

Hi everyone! Happy Almost May! Can you believe it?! I'm happy to share with you today a Really Reasonable Ribbon DT inspiration project, a CAS pink embossed thank you card. I used the absolutely gorgeous White Checkerboard Satin which makes awesome bows! This is my last post with the Really Reasonable Ribbon DT and I'd like to thank Bonnie and all the talented ladies on the team from the bottom of my heart for putting up with me for the past six months. I've so enjoyed this wonderful opportunity! Love, love, love this amazing ribbon!

I created this beautiful multi-loop bow with my Bow-it-All v2.0. You know how I love my bows! ;)

The Catalina Wreath die makes for a really pretty CAS card paired with this gorgeous ribbon. I stamped the 'thanks' sentiment in pink ink and a second time in Versamark, then embossed it with iridescent sparkle embossing powder. I embellished the wreath with a few glittered gumdrops, gemstones and tiny pearls. I really like how this turned out!

I kept the inside simple with a sentiment stamped on a layered panel.

I'd love to enter this thank you card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Bubble Gum cardstock
  • Stamps: WPlus9 Hand Lettered Thanks stamp set
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo (#126948), Versamark Dazzle

  • Accessories: RRR White Checkerboard Satin, Judi-Kins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder, MISTI, YNS Pink Glittered Gumdrops, Stampin' Up! Basic Pearl Jewels (#119247), pink gemstones

Cute 'Pun' Note Cards (Set of 6)

** 5/13/16 Top 6 at Creative Corner Challenges! **

Hello crafty friends! Hope your week was fantastic - only one more week in April, then we hit the first of May! It's time for another fun challenge over at Crafty Friends Challenge Blog and I'm happy to share my DT inpsiration project for Challenge #30 - All Things Cute! Break out all your cute stash and come play with us!

We're being sponsored this time by

I created a set of six adorable little 4x4 punny note cards using the Pun Stamps by Unity which I thought were absolutely adorable and fit the theme of this challenge perfectly. I just love them! I actually bought seven of them a couple years ago but seven is an odd number for a set of note cards so I only used six. I know most people think of 'cute' as little mice, teddy bears or children, but I was thinking outside the box, lol!

We have a taco, bacon, donut, mushroom, rubberband and bag of chips - and sentiments ranging from sadness and surprise to encouragement and a compliment! :) I kept the design clean and simple, and colored each stamped image with my Zig Clean Color markers and a little clear Wink of Stella. Here are photos of each card:

Proud to enter this fun set of note cards into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: The Paper Cut Brown Bag and Black cardstock
  • Stamps: Pun Stamps by Unity
  • Ink: Versamark; Zig Clean Color Markers- Light Green, May Green, Yellow, Wine Red, Geranium Red, Pink, Beige, Light Gray
  • Dies/Punches: My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Square STAX die, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Squares die
  • Accessories: Ranger Black Embossing Powder, Stampin' Up! Pearls (#119247), Fiskars Mini Stamp Positioner, White Gel Pen, Clear Wink of Stella

I hope you've enjoyed today's project and have found a little inspiration to create a cute project for our challenge this time! Be sure to check out all the fun digis at Di's Digi Stamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

You're Pretty Darn Awesome

** 4/23/16 Winner at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge! **

Hi everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm happy to share with you today a Really Reasonable Ribbon DT inspiration project. I created a fun thank you card using the absolutely gorgeous Turquoise Checkerboard Satin Ribbon along with some tiles I've had in my stash forever. I uncovered a treasure trove of stamped images in a little box while moving and remembered most of them but unfortunately not these. If anyone recognizes these, please let me know, as I L.O.V.E. them and I'd love to give the company credit! I colored them with Gelly Roll pens which actually made them look like tiles. I layered the tiles on square stitched die cuts and then layered all four on a larger square stitched die cut. Then I cut the front of the card base off at an angle to show off the turquoise cardstock underneath.

Yep, you guessed it... I created this multi loop bow with my Bow-it-All v2.0. Love that tool! I affixed a vintage charm in the center of the bow for a little interest. So pretty!

I kept the inside fairly simple, stamping the thank you sentiment on a stitched rectangle die cut.

Happy to enter this colorful thank you card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock, Stampin' Up! Island Indigo cardstock (#122923), Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze cardstock (#119684)
  • Stamps: Tile stamps (company unknown), Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Gelly Roll pens- red, royal blue, yellow, black, white, turquoise, green
  • Dies/Punches: My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Square STAX dies, Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers die
  • Accessories: RRR Turquoise Checkerboard Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Up! Something Borrowed embellishments (#137855)

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! OMGoodness, can you believe we are on the down-slide to the end of April already?! I keep saying it's gonna be Christmas before we know it, and it will be! I'm super stoked to share with you today my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #76 - Anything Goes! Our sponsors this time are yours truly (me), The Paper Shelter and A Creative Need! Come play with us - we know you love the 'anything goes' theme!

I chose the absolutely gorgeous Orchids digital image from A Creative Need for my birthday card created in shades of purple. And of course I added my signature big bow and used my favorite stitched dies. I just can't get enough of them! ;)

I colored this image with my new Zig Clean Color markers. I really like them and I'd like to think my technique is improving each time I use them. I did say I wanted to watercolor with them the next time I used them but I haven't. Maybe next time! ;)

The front and inside sentiments are from the GKD Happy Birthday To You stamp set, stamped in Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink. This ink looks embossed in real life. So pretty!

Proud to enter this birthday card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Taylored Expressions Snow White cardstock, Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock, GKD Pure Luxury Wild Orchid and Wild Lilac cardstock
  • Stamps: A Creative Need Orchids digi, GKD Happy Birthday To You stamp set

hey, sugar plum

Hi everyone! Happy Tax Deadline Day to my crafty friends in the States, lol! I've been on vacation all week, which I really needed and have thoroughly enjoyed. Hubby was home this week too, so that made it even more awesome. I finally feel like things are getting back to normal - whatever 'normal' is, lol! Moving is never easy and this time it really whipped my butt!

It's time to make the announcement. Ed and I are officially full-time RVers... we put our 2300 sq ft house on the market and bought/moved into a 500 sq ft fifth wheel. We'll be living/traveling in style - televating TV, fireplace, china cabinet, convection microwave, almost full-size fridge/freezer, front-load washer and dryer, king size Sleep Number bed (my number is 65, BTW), tons of cabinets, Cummings diesel generator and a huge climate-controlled storage compartment underneath. I'll be posting pics on Facebook soon. But yep, we down-sized in a major (very major) kind of way and it's beyond wonderful! We still have a few years before we retire but Ed wanted me to acclimate to the smaller living space, lol, before we travel on a full-time basis. We 're-did' the living room - replaced two swiveling recliners with a reclining loveseat, and replaced the sofa with my scrapping table and hutch. I've sorted, organized and labeled the bins of craft supplies stacked neatly under the table, on top of the hutch and in the cabinets. I had purged and donated alot of stuff several months beforehand so it wasn't nearly as painful as it could have been. My scrap room in the old house was huge and stuff was always getting lost and forgotten, so my rule of thumb was to get rid of whatever hadn't been used in two years. HA! It does work! ;)

Okay, now on to my project. In the midst of all the mayhem, I missed my posting day last Friday on the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog, so to make me feel better, I created an inspiration project to post on my blog today. I've never missed a post. Ever. I created a vintage Christmas card using Red and White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon which happens to match the little girl's skirt pretty well. This ribbon is heavenly... makes the best bows ever! The vintage image, papers and ephemera are all from Polly's Paper Studio; the snowflake die cut, button and gem clip are from my stash. I distressed all the elements with distress ink. The front and and inside sentiment stamps are from Unity, stamped in brown ink.

And how about this pretty fluffy bow?! You guessed it... created with my Bow-it-All v2.0. Multi loop bows are just as easy as single loop bows. Don't tell anybody, but I could just sit and make bows and nothing else!

I embellished the inside with a strip of the plaid paper and red cardstock used on the front, then stamped some snowflakes and a sentiment in brown ink. I colored the snowflakes with brown Wink of Stella.

Proud to enter this Christmas card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Cherry Red cardstock; Polly's Paper Studio Let It Snow vintage images, papers and ephemera
  • Stamps: Unity Tags Glorious Tags stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa ink, Ranger Walnut Stain distress ink
  • Accessories: RRR Red and White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon, MISTI, Snowflake die cut (from my sister), Tim Holtz Idea-ology Gem Clip, Bazzill Basics button, brown Wink of Stella, Darice foam

Ahoy, Matie!

Hi everyone! I'm happy to be a guest designer once again for Scrapping4fun Challenges! Another one of my cards was a featured creation a few weeks ago, so I'm baaack! I'm excited to share my inspiration project for Challenge #63 - Birds featuring Pirate Parrot 3, from our sponsor, FabrikaFantasy! OMG, what fantastic images they have, and this little guy is so adorable! This is actually the first time I've ever used a pre-colored image... and I did so because the details on this image are so phenomenal, I knew I'd never get the same effect, lol! ;)

I went with a mainly yellow and white background with a splash of blue, using three coordinating papers layered on yellow cardstock, a few scattered dew drops and my signature big bow. Oh, and three tiny clear gemstones on the sentiment. Not a huge list of supplies at all! :)

I generally keep the insides of my cards simple, so I used a scrap of the diagonal stripe paper from the front, stamped a simple birthday sentiment and layered the panel on some of the same yellow cardstock.

I'd love to enter this adorable little guy into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Taylored Expressions Snow White cardstock, GKD Pure Luxury White and Wild Dandelion cardstock, Stampin' Up! Moonlight DSP (#133701)
  • Stamps: FabrikaFantasy Pirate Parrot 3 digital image, Paper Smooches Delightful Greetings stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Dies/Punches: MFT Die-namics Stitched Square STAX die
  • Accessories: RRR Danish Blue seam binding, The Robin's Nest red Dew Drops, Stampin' Up! Rhinestones (#119246)

I hope you've enjoyed this project and have found some inspiration to whip something up for our Birds challenge this time! Be sure to check out all the absolutely awesome FabrikaFantasy digis! Thanks for stopping by today and we'll see you next time! ;)

hello for Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop

Hi everyone! It's time for another Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop! Yep, as I always say... you are in for a real treat because the design team has been busy creating some pretty awesome projects using ribbon and/or trim from the April Ribbon Club Assortment, the Red and Turquoise Collection. What gorgeous ribbon! :)

If you are hopping with us, you should have arrived here from the uber talented Kathy's blog. If not, then you might want to head over to the RRR blog to start from the beginning. Trust me... you don't want to miss a thing! :)

I created a pair of hello/thinking of you cards using Red Diamond Satin Ribbon, and some red foil with my MINC foil applicator. Love, love, love how these turned out! The diamond satin ribbon is so gorgeous!

Unfortunately, the red doesn't photograph well in artificial light and we've had about a week of overcast, damp and intermittent rainy days, so I've updated the original frontal photos. Yay! We finally have some sunshine, lol! Even though I had to take these photos from slightly overhead, they are MUCH better than the original ones! ;)

These cards are identical except for the bottom panels. I layered the panels on cherry red cardstock. The only other embellishments (besides the bows) are white flat-back pearls.

I created this double loop bow with my Bow-it-All v2.0. I wanted a pretty bow that really stands out, and this ribbon definitely stands out. It's gorgeous! [Note: While I was able to update the frontal-view photos by retaking them outside, I didn't get around to updating this bow view and the inside view below before they were sold. I guess I just need to make some more, lol!]

For the inside of each card, I used a scrap of the foiled floral paper layered on the red cardstock, and stamped a 'thinking of you' greeting.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Cherry's blog! Be sure to leave some love on all the blogs as you hop... everyone loves and appreciates comments! And when you reach the end of the hop (back at the RRR blog) leave a comment on the blog hop post answering the Question of the Month for your chance to WIN the April Ribbon Club Assortment! :)

Proud to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Cherry Red cardstock, MINC 5th Avenue 12x12 papers
  • Stamps: Clarity Stamp Line Writing Sentiments stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Dies/Punches: Mama Elephant Hello Script die
  • Accessories: RRR Red Diamond Satin Ribbon, white flat-back pearls

I hope you've enjoyed today's project! Be sure to visit Really Reasonable Ribbon for all kinds of gorgeous ribbon and crafty goodies and tools! There's no place like home

** 4/21/16 Top 3 at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends! **

Hi everyone! Life is finally settling down some... we just moved and are getting settled in the new digs. When we put our house on the market, we just knew we'd have several months to make some plans. We went under contract within 72 hours of it hitting the market so the mad scramble began. But it's all good - things happen for a reason and we are happy beyond measure! :D

I'm super stoked to be guest designing for Creative Craft Cottage and happy to share my inspiration project for Challenge #61 - Add Some Sparkle! Dig into your sparkly crafty stash and come play with us! We're being sponsored this time by Morgan's Artworld who provided us with the absolutely adorable Baby Foxes image. Isn't this the cutest image ever?!

This image was so much fun to color. I used several markers from my new 60-piece set of Zig Clean Color markers. This was the first time I used them and there's always a learning curve with new medium, but these are pretty easy to use. I think I'd like to try watercoloring with them the next time I use them. :) I also used a new Sizzix Borders Thinlits die, some new MME papers, Glitter Silk cardstock, and sequins, and of course I added my signature big bow.

I embellished the inside with a strip of paper and cardstock used on the front and a stamped sentiment on a simple hand-cut flag. I do apologize for the lighting which isn't up to par. I don't have my light box set up yet and had a little difficulty getting just the right light on this mostly-white background.

Proud to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Fresh Asparagus cardstock, Core'dinations Glitter Silk cardstock,  My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Things 6x6 paper
  • Stamps: Morgan's Artworld Baby Foxes digital image, Paper Pretties Everyday Miracles stamp set
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Zig Clean Color markers- Mid Green, Olive Green, Lemon Yellow, Carmine Red, Brown, Light Brown, Gray Brown, Light Gray
  • Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers die, Sizzix Borders Thinlit die
  • Accessories: Michael's sheer brown ribbon, Doodlebug Design sequins

I hope you've found a little inspiration to play in our sparkle challenge this time! Be sure to check out the fun digis at Morgan's Artworld! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

My Sister, My Friend

Hey there, crafty friends! I hope your April is off to a great start and you're seeing some lovely Spring weather where you are! I'm really happy to share with you my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB # 75 - The Big Bow Theory! Come play with us - we want to see your project with a bow on it somewhere! That should be relatively easy for everyone, lol! Our sponsors this time are Oddball Art Co. and yours truly (me)!

A co-worker commissioned me to create a birthday card for her sister in shades of purple and yellow, and I showed her a photo of a corner card I made this past summer - and she loved it! I found these absolutely gorgeous Vintage Roses digital papers in the Blossom Paper Art Etsy store and fell in love! I printed the paper on antique linen cardstock and paired it with Stampin' Up! Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey cardstock for layering. It all looks amazing together!

In keeping with the challenge theme, I created a pretty double-loop bow with Bordeaux Wine Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon which is almost an exact match to the Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I have tons of seam binding (from three different companies) in my stash and was so glad to find this color! ;)

Here's a shot of the 'back corner' - you can see just how gorgeous this paper really is. :)

And you can see the overall construction in this overhead shot. This fold is really simple and a lot of fun, and... it folds flat for mailing! :)

Happy to enter this pretty corner card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock, Marco's White Antique Linen cardstock, Stampin' Up! Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss cardstock, Vintage Roses digital paper from Blossom Paper Art
  • Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stitched Oval Layers
  • Accessories: RRR Bordeaux Wine Seam Binding, YNS Purple Glittered Gumdrops, Stampin' Up! Basic Pearls

I hope you've found a little inspiration to create a project with a bow on it for our challenge this time! Be sure to check out the fun digital images from Oddball Art Co. Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Since this card was commissioned for a co-worker, it's not for sale at Hippie Chick Designs but I have lots of others that are, so be sure to check them out! ;)

It's Your Birthday

Hey everybody! Happy April Fool's Day! Has anybody played any tricks on you?! Better yet, did they get away with it?! HA! I'm excited to share my House of Cards DT inspiration project for our April Use Script and/or Colors Challenge! Come play with us - use either script or some/all of these luscious colors from the inspiration photo below on your project!

You know how I love me some fancy folds! I created a fun pinwheel card - featuring the script portion of the challenge theme - using double-sided paper, stamps, an edgelits die and pearl, all from Stampin' Up! I created one of these last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it, and vowed that I would definitely make another one! :D

I really, really like this multi-step flower stamp and stamped several of them a few weeks back to use on various projects. I used the first, second and third generation stamping technique for the flower (with multi-step stamps), and first and second generation stamping for the leaves (also multi-step stamps), so it looks like several different shades of ink were used. I stamped the sentiment on a hand-cut fishtail flag, and decorated each flap with a vellum border die cut and tiny flat-back pearls.

Here's a shot of the card opened up revealing the sentiment that reads Hope you're feeling special today... because that's just what you are! Love, love, love! :)

Happy to enter this fun pinwheel card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Rose Red cardstock (#102544), Stampin' Up! Garden Green cardstock scrap (#102584), Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium white cardstock scrap, Marco's vellum, Marco's Silver Mirror cardstock scrap
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! Garden in Bloom stamp set (#139433), Stampin' Up! Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set (#1140273)
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Rose Red ink (#126954), Garden Green (#126973)
  • Dies/Punches: Stampin' Up! Finishing Touches Edgelits (#127010), SB Tile Works die
  • Accessories: Stampin' Up! Pearls (#119247)

I sure hope you're inspired to play with us in our Script or Colors challenge this month - I can't wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

I've been on a 3-D project kick lately (gee, imagine that, lol) and created a pretty floral gift box using the absolutely gorgeous Red and White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon from the April Ribbon Club Assortment. There's not a ribbon in this assortment that isn't calling my name, lol! OMGoodness! ;)

I created this scrumptious double loop bow with my Bow-it-All v2.0, of course! Love that tool more and more every time I use it!

I still had the Stampin' Up! paper, cardstock, dies, pearls and rhinestones out from another recent project so I put them to good use once again... these new botanical papers and dies are the bomb! I hand-cut a flag and stamped the sentiment in some new gold ink that actually looks embossed. Love this little bouquet!

Here's a shot of the open box. Such fun! ;)
