Hi everyone! It's time for another fun challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon! I'm really excited to share my DT inspiration project for #134 - Anything Goes with Ribbon or Trim! We're being sponsored this time by Polly's Paper Studio who will be giving away 5 digis from her Etsy store to a randomly selected winner! This will be in addition to the top picks chosen by the RRR design team! So come on and dig into your ribbon stash and come play with us!

Polly's is owned by our teammie, Ginny, who graciously provided several of us with digis to play with for this challenge. I thought I was done with Christmas projects - for a few months at least - but when I saw the Old World Traditional Santa Oval Frame Tags, I just HAD to have them!

I created a set of four vintage Santa ornaments and used the Apple Green Checkerboard and Emerald Green Diamond Satin from the February Ribbon Club Assortment for the bows and Gold Metallic String for the hangers. Every style of ribbon in this assortment is just gorgeous!

I created the double loop bows with my Bow-it-All v2.0. Be sure to check out Bonnie's awesome bow tutorials on YouTube! I thought the green went very nicely with the colors in these digis. ;)

I printed all nine digital images on antique linen cardstock but only used four of them for this project; I'll create the other five at a later time. Each Santa was cut with an oval die, layered on foam and edges distressed with walnut stain ink. I cut scalloped ovals from canvas, distressed the edges with walnut stain ink and layered the Santas on them. I created dangling elements with beads and findings, and attached them to the bottom of each ornament, then attached each bow. The last step was to create hangers on the top of each ornament with the gold metallic string.

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Marco's Ivory Antique Linen cardstock, Paper Accents Kraft cardstock, Claudine Helmuth Studio Sticky Back Canvas
  • Stamps: Polly's Paper Studio Old World Traditional Santa Oval Frame Tags (digital images)
  • Ink: Ranger Walnut Stain and Antique Linen distress ink
  • Dies/Punches: SB Classic Circles and Classic Scallops dies
  • Accessories: RRR Apple Green Checkerboard RibbonEmerald Green Diamond Satin Ribbon and Gold Metallic String

I hope you've found some inspiration to create a project for our Anything Goes challenge this time! I can personally vouch for the wonderful products and customer service at Polly's Paper Studio - I think I've ordered all of her creativity kits, lol! FUN stuff! :) And be sure to check out all the ribbon and crafty goodies and tools at Really Reasonable Ribbon as well. You'll be glad you did! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie

Well aren't you a smart cookie to get ahead on your holiday crafting???? I am never that organized lol. These ornaments are too fabby. I've never printed this sheet on antique paper before and I think it gives the images a lovely patina. Thanks so much for playing along in this challenge and for making my collage look soooo good!
