Happy Birthday Tea Cup

** 9/28/15 Top 3 at Melonheadz Friends! **

Hi everyone! It's time for another fun challenge over at 3 Girl JAM! I'm super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for our October Anything Goes with Ribbon challenge! Come play with us! You could be the proud winner of a $15 gift certificate to the 3 Girl JAM store!

I created an adorable Happy Birthday Tea Cup using Blueberry crinkle ribbon from the Summer Harvest Bundle for my big bow. What yummy colors these are! This was a super fun project and the first tea cup I've ever made. My inspiration for the tea cup came from Linda Parker. I added my signature bow and a surprise inside which you'll see down below. ;)

I stamped several clusters of pretty blue flowers all around the outside of the tea cup, dabbed some clear Wink of Stella on them and then added a tiny yellow gemstone to the center of  most of them. These next few shots are different angles going around the tea cup.

Here's a close-up of that yummy bow. You know how I love my bows! And I really do love this Blueberry ribbon! :)

And here's another added touch...

The birthday sentiments and pretty little blue and yellow heart glitter in a shaker pouch! I had to play with the fuse tool! :D

You are so kind

Hi everyone! I'm happy to share with you another 3 Girl JAM DT inspiration project. I'm still 'into' my fancy folds, as I have been all summer, and created this fun double gate fold card (first one ever) with the absolutely gorgeous Barn Door crinkle ribbon from the Rustic Country Bundle. My inspiration once again came from Splitcoast Stampers - a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator was in the spotlight in a recent SCS Newsletter with this fun fancy fold. :)

I put my own spin on this fold and used some pretty coordinating papers layered on cardstock, along with a couple stamp sets from Stampin' Up! I love these ivory and black double-sided papers, and the pop of the rusty orange is just beautiful!

I added my signature big bow on the left side, and a pretty gold foil die cut butterfly and double layered sentiment banner on the right side. You can just barely see the clear belly band I created from a thin strip of Stampin' Up! window sheet.

Here's a shot of the card opening up. I stamped 'splatters' on the front and inside panels.

And here's the inside fully exposed with that sweet sentiment on a layered panel. I'm very happy with how this turned out. I can definitely see more of these in my future, lol!

Proud to enter this fancy fold into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Basic Black 12x12 cardstock (#124267), Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla cardstock (#101650), scrap of Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze cardstock (#119684), scrap of Marco's Gold Foil cardstock, Stampin' Up! Typeset Specialty DSP (#133704)
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wings (#139424), Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Grunge (#130517)
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Early Espresso (#126974), Cajun Craze (#126965), Hello Honey (#133643)
  • Dies/Punches: Stampin' Up! Bold Butterfly Framelits (#138135), Lil Inker Designs Stitched Sentiment Flag
  • Accessories: Bow-it-All, 3 Girl JAM Barn Door ribbon from Rustic Country Bundle, Stampin' Up! Window Sheet (#114323), yellow Wink of Stella pen, KaiserCraft Copper flat-back pearls, tiny yellow gemstones

I only have eyes for you

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share with you my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #62 - Anything Goes! Our sponsors for this challenge are Bugaboo Digi Stamps, DRS Designs and Sparkle N Sprinkle! Come on and play with us! We know you love some anything goes!

This was a super fun and easy card I created for Halloween. I chose the awesome Eyeball digi and Eyes For You greeting from DRS Designs. I created what I call a 'smooshed ink' background with several alcohol inks in Halloween colors of orange, purple, green and yellow. wrapped a thin strip of cheesecloth a couple times around the panel and layered it on black cardstock.

I used a few Spectrum Noir markers and clear Wink of Stella to color the creepy eyeballs. I made one slightly larger than the other and put several layers of fun foam behind the smaller one to make it slightly more dimensional than the larger one which has just one layer of fun foam behind it.

I left the inside very simple with just a stamped sentiment.

I'm happy to enter this super simple Halloween card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Premium white cardstock, Marco's black cardstock
  • Stamps: DRS Designs Eyeball digital image, Stampin' Up! And Many More stamp set
  • Ink: Adirondack alcohol ink- Purple Twilight, Lettuce, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow; Spectrum Noir- CR9, JG1, LG5
  • Dies/Punches: Spellbinders Classic Circles die, Stampin' Up! 1-3/4" Circle Punch
  • Accessories: Dritz cheesecloth, clear Wink of Stella, white fun foam

Hope you've found a little inspiration to play in our Anything Goes challenge this time! Be sure to check out all the crafty goodies at Bugaboo Digi StampsDRS Designs and Sparkle N Sprinkle! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Pinwheel Thank You

Hi everyone! I'm happy to share with you today another 3 Girl JAM DT inspiration project. You know how I love me some fancy folds! ;) I created a fun pinwheel thank you card with a shaker inside using the last little bit of Green Jeans ribbon from the Saturday Morning Bundle. This truly is one of my favorite colors, as evidenced by the fact that I now have none left, lol!

I created this card out of some of my favorite double-sided Stampin' Up! paper in shades of green. I attached some stitched border strips to the four flaps for a little interest.

I created a multi-loop bow embellished with a single pearl in the center. I stamped the sentiment on a flag, tucked it under the bow and added a row of tiny pearls. I love flags because they make such bold statements! ;)

Here's a shot of the card opened up to reveal the inside thank you sentiment. Both the front and inside sentiments are from Stampin' Up!

I got a fuse tool and have only used it once, so I wanted to get a little more practice creating shaker pockets. I saw this as the perfect opportunity... filling the pocket with hearts, stars and two sizes of round sequins. BLING BLING! :)

I'd love to to enter this fun card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Stampin' Up! Old Olive Cardstock (#100702), Stampin' Up! English Garden DSP (#138440)
  • Stamps: Stampin' Up! From My Heart (#126557)
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Mossy Meadow (#133645)
  • Dies/Punches: Die-namics Stitched Squares die (edges only), Stampin' Up! Triple Banner Punch (#138292)
  • Accessories: 3 Girl JAM Green Jeans ribbon from Saturday Morning Bundle, We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool & Pouch, Stampin' Up! Frosted Sequins (#135835), Stampin' Up! In Color Sequin Assortment (#133631), Stampin' Up! Basic Pearl Jewels (#119247)

Friend

Hi everyone! I'm so stoked to be hosting this week's challenge over at Mod Squad Challenge Blog! We're being sponsored by Melanie Muenchinger, an illustrator for Gina K Designs. Come play with us - my theme is Marvelous Marbling! Let's see some marbled backgrounds or images on your projects. There are many ways to achieve this awesome look. I learned the technique from one of my favorite "go-to learnin' places"... Splitcoast Stampers.

I used Melanie's stamp set Wild at Heart, my MISTI and four colors of ink (yellow, orange, red and brown - in that order) to create the background on my friendship card in autumn/fall colors. The fall fever has begun! In a nutshell, here's how you do it - starting with the lightest color of ink, stamp the entire image. Then, using a gloved finger tip, randomly dab the next color over the image and stamp it. Repeat the process with as many colors of ink as you want, and voila... you have a gorgeous marbled masterpiece, lol! I can so see me using this same background stamp with some purples, blues and pinks! ;)

I added some shimmer to the background panel with iridescent sparkle embossing powder. Sure packs a powerful punch - it's gorgeous! :) I added a length of pretty satin ribbon and a killer double-loop bow before layering the panel on Tomato Soup cardstock. I layered the stamped sentiment on several die cuts and added a few tiny dot sparklers. I really love how this turned out!

I kept the inside fairly simple, as I usually do, with a stamped sentiment on a layered panel. The front and inside sentiments were also from the Wild at Heart stamp set.

Happy to enter this friendship card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Tomato Soup cardstock
  • Stamps: GKD Wild at Heart stamp set
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! - Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso; Versamark Dazzle
  • Dies/Punches: Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
  • Accessories: MISTI, Judi-Kins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder, The Robin's Nest Dew Drops (red), Stampendous Dot Sparklers (red), Really Reasonable Ribbon Colors of Autumn satin ribbon from the August Ribbon Club Assortment

I hope you've found some inspiration to enter my marbling challenge this week! It's really a super easy technique and is so much fun! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Scrappy hugs,
Leslie

hello (shaker card)

** 9/13/15 Winner at 613 Avenue Create! **

Hi everyone! I'm so stoked to share with you my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #61 - Do A Double Take! Come play with us! It's an easy one - we want to see at least two patterned papers on your project! We are being sponsored this time by Imagine That! digis by Kris, A Day for Daises and The Stamping Boutique!

I used the super adorable Peacock Magic image from A Day For Daisies for my shaker card. It's been a little while since I created a shaker card and I thought it was about time. I got a fuse tool and a bunch of various sized pouches, and I just HAD to play! The pretty papers are from Gina K Designs.

Isn't this image just the sweetest?! I colored her with Spectrum Noir and used a Versamarker pen to emboss her dress with tinsel. I put a pinch of white and a pinch of teal hearts and stars glitter in the shaker along with some white seed beads and just a few dark teal pearlescent seed beads. I cut the frame around the shaker from teal foiled cardstock.

Here's an angled shot showing her embossed dress.

I colored the Mama Elephant hello script die cut with a Spectrum Noir marker, used some clear Wink of Stella and then finally some Glossy Accents. It turned out so pretty!

And here's the inside, a simple Stampin' Up! sentiment on a layered panel.

Proud to enter this fun shaker card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White and Turquoise Sea, DCWV Foiled cardstock, GKD Shabby Spring & Garden Tour 6x6 patterned papers

Happy Birthday kite card

** 9/15/15 Winner at Clear It Out Challenge Blog! **
** 9/21/15 Top 5 at Crafty Cardmakers and More! **

Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be hosting this week's StampTV Challenge! I always feel like I've "come home" when I play at StampTV because it's the first place I ever entered a challenge back in 2011! My challenge theme this week is Fancy Your Fold so let's see your fancy folds with 2 or more folds. Come play with us for a chance to win an awesome grab bag of Gina K Designs goodies! If you aren't a member of StampTV, come on over and join - it's free and lots of fun!

I've been on a fancy fold kick for most of the summer so that's why I chose that theme for this challenge. I wanted to create something uber cool for this challenge and decided on a kite card. My inspiration came from Splitcoast Stampers. I really, really like this fold! I used the GKD Happy Birthday stamp set duo which contains two sentiment stamps. I used some pretty double-sided paper to make the kite card base. The front panel is layered on gold mirror cardstock. I left the ribbon tails of the multi-loop bow long to resemble a kite tail. :)

The simple sentiment on the front is stamped in Versamark on vellum and heat embossed in white. I cut it with a stitched circle die and layered it on a slightly larger one cut from the same set. The only other embellishments are white flat-back pearls and flowers to which I added some clear Wink of Stella.

Here's a shot of the kite card opening up. Love both sides of this paper!

And here's the inside sentiment stamped on Turquoise Sea cardstock, cut with a stitched square die and layered on the gold mirror cardstock. Did I mention how much I really love this fold?!

Proud to enter this fun fold into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Turquoise Sea cardstock, K & Co. Jubilee double-sided paper
  • Stamps:
  • Ink: SweetStamps white dye ink, Stampin' Up! Bermuda Bay ink
  • Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stitched Circles, Die-namics Stitched Squares
  • Accessories: SweetStamps fine detail white embossing powder, Petaloo Darjeeling Petite Flowers Teastaine Blue, SweetStamps 36-lb vellum, clear Wink of Stella, Doodlebug Sprinkles Swimming Pool assortment, white flat-back pearls, 1/8" ivory ribbon, fun foam

I hope you've found a little inspiration to play in my fancy fold challenge this week over at StampTV! Any stamps, inks and embellishments can be used, but if you use GKD stamps exclusively, you play for a chance to win a grab bag of GKD goodies! How awesome is that?! And remember, it's free to join StampTV! Hope to see you there!

Elegant Thanks (Stripes)

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my last post, I've been playing in the scrap room for the past couple weekends making foil backgrounds. I discovered the Minc foil applicator a few weeks ago so I ordered one as an early birthday present to myself, even though my birthday isn't until October! That's okay... I'm an old girl and I can do whatever I want! ;)

I created two elegant thank you cards which worked up so quickly it was amazing! The front and inside panels on both are layered on gold mirror cardstock. This one has stripes beneath the floral piece on the front and the other one has dots, which I posted separately.

Same as the other one with dots - I added a pretty gold organza double loop bow and a gold 'thanks' die cut created from the same gold mirror cardstock that I layered the front and inside panels on.

And the inside of both cards are the same with a simple sentiment embossed in gold, leaving lots of room to write a thank you note.

Would love to enter this thank you card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White; Marco's Gold Mirror, MINC 5th Avenue 6x6 papers
  • Stamps: W Plus 9 Hand Lettered Thanks
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Dies/Punches: Simon Says Stamp thanks die
  • Accessories: Minc foil applicator, Minc gold foil, Gold organza ribbon, Ranger super fine detail gold embossing powder

I hope you've enjoyed this project also - two super easy and elegant thank you cards that pack a huge punch! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie
