Start your tractor

Hi everyone! I'm happy to once again be guesting over at Scrapping4fun Challenges! My "OMG" z-fold card was featured in early May which afforded me another guestie spot! Woo-hoo! Many thanks to Rachelle and her team for featuring my card and asking me to play again!

I'm excited to share with you today a project I created for Challenge #44 - Birthday. Come play with us - we want to see a birthday project! This child birthday card was commissioned by a co-worker whose grandson turned two. He's all about tractors and they were planning a tractor-themed birthday party, so I went on the hunt for a tractor cut file which I found in the Silhouette store.

I stamped the background in green and yellow using the IO Diagonal Stripes background stamp. I cut the printed sentiment with a Spellbinders die and layered it on an oval die cut, and affixed it on 3-D foam pads over the top of several loops of black cord. I also used a couple black buttons from my stash along with some silver nail heads.

OMG, I don't believe I've EVER glued down such tiny pieces! LOL! But I loved every minute of it! It was very much like putting a puzzle together and so much fun watching it come to life with each piece! Yes, I'm grinning! :)

I printed the the other half of the sentiment on the inside (continued from the front) and adhered a couple left-over edge pieces of the stamped diagonal stripes. The card was a hit at the party! (I fuzzed-out the big boy's name on this photo to maintain his anonymity.)

Proud to enter this birthday card into the following challenges:

  • Cardstock/Paper: GKD Pure Luxury White, Black Onyx and Fresh Asparagus, yellow cardstock from stash
  • Stamps: Impression Obsession Diagonal Stripes background
  • Ink: Stampin' Up! Wild Wasabi (#126959), Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight (#126944)
  • Dies: Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A & B, Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals; Silhouette tractor cut file
  • Accessories: Black buttons, black cord, Mark Richards Silver Nail Heads

I hope you've found a little inspiration to play in our birthday challenge this time! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
