Classic Happy Birthday

** 5/25/14 Winner at One Stitch At A Time! **

Hello everyone! I'm here this morning to share my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #30 - Anything Goes! We're being sponsored this time by the amazing Lawn Fawn and Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet! Come play with us - you know you love some Anything Goes! It doesn't get any easier than this... absolutely no "challenge" whatsoever! ;)

I made a very cool masculine birthday card using kraft, warm cocoa and navy blue cardstock with coordinating plaid and checked papers. I found some Piccolo gears in my stash that I think compliment the papers and image very nicely, along with some nailheads.

This awesome image is from the Transportation Stamp Pack by Reece's Scrap Pieces with Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet. Don't you just love it?! What a bad-a$$ old truck! Would LOVE to have one of these to drive every day! :)

And here's a peek at the inside - just a simple Happy Birthday sentiment.

Proud to enter my Classic birthday card into the following challenges:

Polkadoodles 5th Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey everyone! I'm always on the lookout for new challenge blogs and ran across Polkadoodles Challenge Blog today! Looks like they have some fun challenges going on AND they are celebrating their 5th birthday with a mini blog hop! I love blog hops as long as they are not ridiculously long. This one has... you guessed it... 5 stops! Perfect! ;)

Now for the fun stuff... to celebrate their 5th birthday, a special digi and paper bundle has been created for each of the 5 original members which are available as free downloads along the way! How cool is that?! There is also blog candy on each of the 5 blogs, and, as if that's not enough, there's also a chance to be the random winner of a massive blog candy!

Sounds like fun to me! The hop closes on May 30th and all six winners will be announced on June 6th.

Check out all the details HERE!

Happy hopping!

Hugs,
Leslie

Now and forever

Wow, it's the end of the week already and I almost forgot to share the wedding card I created last weekend for my co-worker with a nephew getting married in a few weeks. I just love how this turned out and she was very happy! Too often, wedding cards cater more to the bride and not so much to the groom, and since it was my co-worker's nephew getting married, I wanted this card's main focus to be on him. This was super easy... simple stamping with the Paper Smooches Simply Said stamp set, black and white cardstock, and a hand-cut dress layered onto the tux. :)

I stamped the front sentiment, from the Paper Smooches Simply Said stamp set, in white dye ink on the black cardstock.

I had some white pinstripe wedding paper in my stash (from years ago) which I used for the shirt along with some tiny white flat-back pearls, and used some black glitter cardstock for the tux lapels. I hand cut a bow tie and embellished it with a single black flat-back pearl.

I stamped lace on the bottom half of the dress and embossed it with white bridal embossing powder. I embellished the neckline of the dress with several tiny white flat-back pearls, and added a narrow strip of ribbon on the waistline.

I kept the inside simple with a stamped congrats sentiment, also from the Paper Smooches Simply Said stamp set.

Proud to enter this wedding card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; Paper and More black cardstock; Colorbok Black Glitter cardstock; Michaels White Pinstripe Wedding cardstock
  • Paper Smooches Simply Said stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Great Impressions lace background stamp
  • Versamark
  • Ranger white bridal embossing powder
  • Tiny white and black flat-back pearls
  • Narrow white ribbon from stash

That's it from me for now! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,

Love

Hi everyone! Has the weather improved any in your neck of the world?! It rained here in north Florida every single day last week but turned into a gorgeous sunny weekend with temps in the 80s. I played in the scrap room despite the warm sunshiny weather, and proud to say I got quite a bit accomplished!

I'm chomping at the bit to share my Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog DT inspiration project for LTSCB #29 - Party Bingo! Our awesome sponsors this time are The Stamping Chef and Lacy Sunshine Stamps! And that means two prizes! Come play with us! All you gotta do is choose 1 letter from the word BINGO and create a project using all 5 elements in that column!

I created a Valentine using the letter N from the bingo grid - charm, pink, big bow, love (or I love you) and pearls. That sweet image is Rory Love Letters from Lacy Sunshine Stamps. Isn't she just the cutest?!

I dug into my "pink" stash and chose several coordinating pink patterned papers (you know me... the more the merrier) along with a couple Graphic 45 chipboard pieces, a Bali heart charm and a huge triple-loop bow!

I layered the inside but kept it fairly simple with a stamped sentiment.

Proud to enter this Valentine into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury White, Bubble Gum Pink and Cranberry Tart cardstock
  • Papers from Recollections Bold Basics paper pad
  • Lacy Sunshine Stamps Rory Love Letters digital image
  • Copics: I accidentally threw away the list of Copics I used... if I can recreate it, I'll update my post
  • Stamp Camp Simple Sentiments 1 stamp set
  • VersaMagic Opera Pink ink
  • Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Chipboard pieces
  • Inky Impressions Bali heart charm
  • Pink organza ribbon
  • White flat-back pearls

I hope you're up for a good game of Party Bingo! C'mon, choose a letter and come play with us! This is a fun game! And don't forget to check out all the fun digital images at  The Stamping Chef and Lacy Sunshine Stamps! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Happy Mother's Day

** 5/7/14 Top 3 Favorite at Stampotique Designers Challenge! **
** 5/9/14 Top 5 Pick at QKR Stampede! **
** 5/11/14 Winner at Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog! **
** 5/17/14 Top 3 Pick at The Squirrel and The Fox! **

Hi everyone! I've been busy this weekend in the scrap room and got quite a few things accomplished - I created several Mother's Day cards and a wedding card for co-workers, AND I taught myself how to create Silhouette cut files from stamped images. SCORE! Woo-hoo! ;)

I'm sure you've noticed these cute little pop-up box cards are the latest rage in blogland and I just love them! So much fun! I made my first one back in mid-January with a shopping theme as a DT inspiration project after having received the tutorial in a newsletter from Splitcoast Stampers. I was hooked and created my second one about a month ago with a gardening theme as a birthday card for a sweet lady turning 80 years young which doubled as a guest DT inspiration project.

I just couldn't help myself... I created four more, all for Mother's Day, in blue, purple, peach and yellow/green. This blue one is for my daughter. I used flower stamps from several Gina K Designs stamp sets. Lots of stamping and super inky fingers! But definitely worth it... my daughter is going to love it!

I cut the sentiment with a SB die and matted it on a pretty lacey square die cut, then embellished it with a bow.

Here are several more views so you can see the other colors and variety of stamped flowers.

Proud to enter this Mother's Day card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • DCWV blue textured cardstock and blue shimmer cardstock; GKD pure luxury white cardstock
  • Papermania Vintage Notes 6x6 linen papers
  • GKD Spring Blessings stamp set
  • GKD Flowers Bloom stamp set
  • Copics: R22/32, Y15/17, YG63/67, BV11/13, B91/95
  • Memento Tuxedo Black, Bamboo Leaves, Danube Blue Grape Jelly, Rhubarb Stalk, Summer Sky dew drop Love Letter dew drop and Tangelo dew drop inks
  • Sentiment from Our Craft Lounge Vintage Roses stamp set
  • Spellbinders Classic Squares and Lacey Squares dies
  • Studios Blackbird ribbon
  • White flat-back pearls

Oh, and while I'm at it, here are the other three - in purple, peach and yellow/green. ;)

I'll be back in a day or two to post the wedding card I made this weekend. I also have some fun little purses that I've made recently that I'd like to share, so stay tuned! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!
Hugs,
Leslie
