Merry Christmas

** 12/11/13 Winner at C... is for Challenge! **

I'm back with my second post today - another CAS Christmas note card created with stamps from the GKD Season's Greeting StampTV kit. This is another one I made just to enter into a few challenges and not for a DT inspiration project. ;)

CAS doesn't come easy for me - I generally like layers and embellishments - so I definitely challenged myself today! And I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge! This note card features a gold embossed Christmas ornament hanging from a blinged-up lacey border.

I used tiny red and deep red gemstones on the lacey border, and a slightly larger deep red one in the center of the ornament. I really like the simple elegance of this! The inside is blank.

I'd love to enter this Christmas note card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white and cranberry cardstock
  • GKD Season's Greetings stamp set
  • Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink
  • Ranger fine detail gold embossing powder
  • Versamark Dazzle
  • Red and deep red gemstones (tiny and small)

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

Season's Greetings

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! I was off work today and will be tomorrow too, so I get to play in the scrap room for four days! Woo-hoo! I played with my new Season's Greetings StampTV kit today (finally) and created a couple CAS note cards to enter into some challenges. OMG, what gorgeous stamps, papers and ribbons! I didn't use any of the papers or ribbons for these two note cards since they are CAS, but stay tuned for more projects to come! ;)

I stamped two small and one large snowflakes and a sentiment on the front in brown ink. I wanted a vintage feel to this card.

The only other embellishments I used were two small and one medium flat-back pearl in the center of the snowflakes, and pieces of tan and dark brown twine.

I stamped a small snowflake in the lower left corner on the inside, leaving plenty of room to write a note.

I'm proud to enter this vintage CAS Christmas note card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury ivory and chocolate cardstock
  • GKD Season's Greetings stamp set
  • GKD Snow Frame stamp set
  • Memento Rich Cocoa ink
  • Champagne flat-back pearls
  • Studio Blackbirds tan and dark brown twine

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

'Tis The Season!

** 12/2/13 Top 5 at Love To Create Challenge Blog! **

Good morning, everyone! I'm back today to share my DT inspiration project for this week's Inky Impressions Challenge, IIC #136 - Presents and Gifts! Come play with us! We want to see your project that depicts 'presents and gifts'... this can mean in the image, on the project or the project itself! The interpretation is all up to you! ;) The random winner will receive 4 digis from the Inky store!

I used the adorable Winter Mailbox Lili digi for my card, along with a new 6x6 Christmas paper pack that I received just last week, some old (and I mean old) re-purposed ribbon and some fun embellishments!

This image has to be one of the cutest I've seen in a while. I colored her up in a burgundy and light aqua color scheme to match my papers. I used snow white flock on the mail box and the ground. The ribbon is some organza that originally started out as one of the bows on a pair red ballerina flats I bought 25 years ago! The bows were too big, I thought, so I immediately removed them from the flats and added smaller ones, which was great because it yielded some beautiful organza for my craft stash! I used one a few years back and just found this other one! ;)

The snow on the mailbox and the ground looks so authentic, I added a tiny bottle of snow as an embellishment since the likely recipient is a resident of Florida! Hehehe!

And here is the fun part of the 'presents and gifts' theme of our challenge... a gift of a handmade box of note paper. Thanks Monika for the simple note paper box tutorial which I decorated with matching papers I used on the card.

The note paper is premium quality paper hand cut to fit the box! Lots of TLC went into this, I gotta say! ;)

And here's a peek at the inside, decorated with matching papers and a gold Dazzles Christmas sentiment.

I'd love to enter my card and gift into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • Marco's white vintage linen cardstock (card base); Hammermill white cardstock (image); DCWV textured champagne cardstock
  • My Mind's Eye "All Is Bright" 6x6 paper pad
  • Inky Impressions Winter Mailbox Lili digital image
  • Copics: C3/7, BG000/11/15, E35/37/51, Y21, R27/81/89
  • Spellbinders Class Squares and Scalloped Squares dies
  • SNS Scallop Border die
  • Recollections snow white flock
  • Tim Holtz Idea-ology Corked Vials
  • Dazzles Christmas sentiment
  • Red eyelets
  • Champagne flat-back pearls and gemstones
  • Re-purposed red organza ribbon from stash

Hope you've been inspired to create something fun for our presents and gifts challenge! To get your mojo going, be sure to check out the selection of stamps and other crafting goodies in the Inky Impressions store! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Bombshell Stamps November Hump Day Hop

Hi everyone! As a Bombshell Stamps guest designer, it's my pleasure to welcome you to the Bombshell Stamps November Hump Day Hop! The theme this month is Water World so grab a cuppa and get comfy, and prepare to be dazzled by the talent of the Bombshell Babes and Pin-Ups!

I used several stamps from the Bombshell Stamps Lotus Garden stamp set for my Balance note card. This was a super easy card that I thoroughly enjoyed making. The koi and water were stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copics and matted on black cardstock. I rounded two corners and used no embellishments. I left the inside blank as this is a note card. This will be awesome to mail because the only dimensional element is the sentiment! ;)

I'd love to enter my Balance note card into the following challenges:

have a beautiful birthday

Hello, everyone! Another busy weekend behind us - they seem to pass by way too quickly! Thanksgiving is this week... then Christmas is right around the corner! I've popped in this morning to post a clean and simple birthday card I created with an absolutely gorgeous Eureka Stamps digital image. I probably shouldn't tell you this but it's actually an 'oops' - I created it for a DT inspiration project and when I sat back admiring it after it was finished, I realized I hadn't followed the sketch! Uh oh! But it shan't go to waste... I have their blessing (and a chuckle) to post it anyway, so I'll use this happy accident for play instead! That's not a bad thing! You'll be seeing this gorgeous image colored differently in another project in a few weeks, so stay tuned! Hehehe!

Love, love, love this image! It's called Flower Basket and the detail is just amazing! It's also a very versatile image, and with different sentiments could easily be made into a thank you, a get well, a congrats, or an anniversary. I left the inside blank to use as a note card.

I chose bright and cheery colors for the flowers and a pretty pink bow. The white layers are matted on black for a stunning effect. I didn't use any embellishments whatsoever. You have to admit this make an amazing CAS card - I can't wait to give it somebody! ;)

I'd love to enter this beauty into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock (card base); Crafter's Companion white cardstock (image); Paper and More black cardstock
  • Eureka Stamps Flower Basket digital image
  • Copics: YR01/04/15, Y11/15, R81/83/85, E33/37, BV00/08, YG11/63/93/95

Winter Wonderland

Howdy! This morning I'm sharing my DT inspiration project for this week's Inky Impressions challenge - IIC #135 - Hats/Scarves/Gloves! What a fun theme! Come play with us! We want to see your project with hats, scarves and gloves!

I used the super sweet Ice Skating Rachel stamp along with some wintery snowflake and plaid papers from my beloved 6x6 patterned paper stash that I keep in "the drawer." These are fairly new so they were easily accessible! ;)

I matted the background snowflake paper, the focal image and the other snowflake and plaid layered papers on textured brown cardstock. The front and inside sentiments are both computer-generated. The only embellishments I used were some pretty white crocheted lace and some light pink flat-back pearls.

Here's a peek at the simple layered inside...

I'd love to enter sweet Rachel into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock (card base); Crafter's Companion white cardstock (image); Paper and More brown canvas cardstock

** 11/24/13 DT Favorite at Make It Monday - Featured on Sandy's Blog! **

OMG - what fun I had creating this boy card, my DT inspiration project for the Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog LTSCB #18 - Boyz Rule! Come play with us! We're being sponsored by the awesome QKR Stampede!

I used a navy blue and neutrals color scheme, along with several die cuts and some adorable ruler washi tape! I even dug into the buttons!

What a fun, fun image this was to work with! Love the plumber's crack on this little carpenter! ;)

I found some tool die cuts in my stash that I've had forever... so long, in fact, that I don't have any earthly idea where I got them! But the hammer was perfect for the inside of this card!

I'm proud to enter my buddy card into the following challenges:

Recipe:

  • GKD Casual Friday and Pool Side 6x6 patterned paper packs

Watercolor Sugar Skulls

** 12/8/13 Winner at Bombshell Stamps Blog! **
** 11/29/13 Top 3 at Craftitude! **

Hello again, everyone! Here's the other card I created this weekend strictly for play. I got busy with a Niji brush, some watercolors and my Bombshell Stamps sugar skulls and created this clean and simple note card! Love these stamps and love how this turned out! And I followed that awesome Bombshell November sketch (again)! :)

I used white linen cardstock matted on black cardstock which I think yielded a stunning effect with these watercolors.

These tiny bones are just the coolest! You can't see it real well but there is some cheesecloth and a little glitter under that gorgeous iridescent purple ribbon.

I masked the upper portion of the image so I'd have just two of the skulls stamped on the inside, and I left them uncolored. There's plenty of room left to write a note.

I'd love to enter my sugar skulls note card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; Marcos white linen cardstock; Paper and More black cardstock
  • Bombshell Stamps Sugar Skulls stamp set (focal image, sentiment and tiny bone)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Nicholson's  Peerless Transparent Watercolors: Heliotrope, Alice Blue, Arbutus Pink, Golden Yellow, Olive Green
  • Niji water brush
  • White Reggae Art Glitter
  • Iridescent purple Studios Blackbird ribbon
  • Cheesecloth

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this sugar skulls card and I hope you like! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

You're My Style Note Card

Hi everyone! It's been another fast and furious weekend amidst laundry, a few other things around the house, and a little time in the scrap room. These weekends are going by way too fast! I did get a few cards made - a couple DT inspiration projects and a couple that I created strictly for play. This one actually happened by accident (hehehe)! I was looking through my stamps to select something for an autumn/fall theme and happened across this very cool Fashionista/Trendsetter image and sentiment. I love the houndstooth pattern on the shoes and just happened to have some houndstooth paper to match. I've been on a monochromatic kick over the last week or so - black and white with a splash of one other color - so here we go again! ;)

One of the challenges I'm playing in is a pre-holiday rush "de-stressing" theme (another term for distressing) so I grabbed the Tonic distressing tool and went to town! You should've seen the little bits of paper flying... EVERY edge of every layer (including the card base) is distressed! No ink, only tool. I actually went for the look of fabric to match the shoes and I think it does look like multiple layers of fabric! What do you think?!

Love, love, love these shoes which are stamped on gorgeous white linen cardstock. Of course, this is coming from yours truly who has a major kind of shoe fetish! ;)

I flipped up the lower right-hand corner to reveal the sentiment. I really like the way this turned out!

I'd love to enter this note card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; Marco's white linen cardstock; DCWV hot pink textured cardstock; Paper and More black cardstock
  • The Paper Cut houndstooth paper
  • GKD Springtime Silhouettes stamp set (image and sentiment)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • SweetStamps White dye ink
  • Tonic distressing tool
  • Black flat-back pearls

Hope you like my Fashionista themed card with the layers of faux fabric! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

How fun is that?! So be sure to leave comments! All random winners will be drawn at the end of November! Good luck!

I chose the gorgeous Winter Lamp Post for my monochromatic "Winter Wishes" card. Can you tell I'm on a monochromatic kick?! I used white linen cardstock along with three black and white patterned papers from my new fav paper pack with just a tiny pop of red. I'm loving how this turned out!

I just love this sentiment - it really brings in the spirit of the season!

I used the plaid paper from the front to decorate the inside, along with a computer-generated Winter Wishes sentiment.

happy holidays

Hi everybody! I'm back this morning to share my DT inspiration project for the challenge this week at Inky Impressions - IIC #134 - Red & Green. Come play with us! We want to see your red and green projects! Christmas is just around the corner, so dig into your Christmas stash (or not) and get your craft on! ;)

I used the absolutely adorable Inky Impressions Delilah's Ducky Christmas stamp as the focal image on my card. I kept the overall design simple.

The green patterned background paper is new that I just added to my Christmas stash. I cut the banner from some red cardstock that I stamped/embossed snowflakes on and had in my stash - I knew it would come in handy one day! ;)

I stamped the sentiment, also available in the Inky store, vertically on some clear cardstock layered on top of the banner, and attached the banner with a couple eyelets. I also used a few brads and some of my favorite WOC flowers. ;)

The computer-generated sentiment on the inside was cut with an oval die and mounted on a lacey die cut and then on a strip of the green patterned paper I used on the front.

I'd love to enter this sweet card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; Paper and More black cardstock; Heartfelt Creations clear cardstock; Marcos red cardstock
  • Lawn Fawn fa-la-la o christmas tree paper
  • Inky impressions Delilah's Ducky Christmas stamp
  • Copics: YG11/17/67, Y11/17, YR09, R22/24/27/89, B05/91, BG000, BV17, E99
  • Sakura Stardust pen
  • Inky Impressions Nice List Sentiment stamp
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • StazOn Jet Black ink
  • Spellbinders Classic Circles, Big Scalloped Circles, Classic Ovals, Floral Ovals and Foliage dies
  • Wild Orchid Crafts flowers
  • Red and gold brads; white eyelets

I hope you're inspired to create a red and green project for our challenge this week - it doesn't necessarily have to be a Christmas project! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Let's Take A Spin!

I had some scrap room playtime this past weekend and got several DT projects done. To reward myself for working so hard, I played with some Bombshell Stamps and created this pink girlie Harley card strictly for play - to enter into some challenges! She's born to be wild... get your motor runnin'... :) Who says biker chicks can't be all girlie and feminine?!

I love sketches so I followed the Bombshell Stamps November sketch for this. And the intent was to go monochromatic - black and white - with just a splash of pink - which I think I pulled off fairly well! I'm diggin' it! ;)

The background is gorgeous white linen cardstock matted on pink and then on black, with contrasting strips of black/white Swiss dot paper matted on black. I colored the image, fussy cut it, gave it a pink paper-pieced paint job, then mounted it on some faux leather that I girlied up with a pink oval scalloped die cut. Embellishments consist simply of gemstones, flat-back pearls and a bow. ;)

For the inside, I stamped animal print in vibrant pink ink, die cut it and matted it on black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment, matted it on black cardstock and adhered it to the animal print.

I'd love to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; Marcos white linen cardstock; Paper and More black cardstock; DCWV textured hot pink cardstock
  • Black/white Swiss dot paper and bow from the Papermania Capsule collection
  • Bombshell Stamps Harley Bikes stamp set (bike and sentiment)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Copics: C1/3/5, RV25
  • Comotion Almost Leather
  • Faux stitching drawn with DecoColor Liquid Silver opaque paint marker
  • Spellbinders Classic Ovals, Scalloped Ovals and Classic Squares dies
  • Bombshell Patterns stamp set (animal print inside)
  • VersaColor Opera Pink ink
  • Large black pearl flat-back pearls; tiny pink gemstones; small silver flat-back pearl

I hope you like my pink girlie Harley! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

Peace Love Cure

Hi everyone! I'm back today to post my DT inspiration project for Inky Impressions IIC #133 - Die Cuts or Punches. Come play with us! We want to see your project using die cuts or punches - we know you have one or the other (or both) in your stash! ;)

I chose the very cool Inky Impressions Peace Love Cure digi for my note card. I used SB labels and scalloped rectangle dies, and a CLD doily die. This digi really spoke to me... most of you know that I'm just an old hippie chick wishing the world peace and love, and it's long been my hope that a cure for cancer will be found. When I saw this in the Inky store, I knew I had to have it! ;)

The denim paper is one of my favorites that I've had in my stash for 5-6 years. When I originally found it online, I loved it so much that I bought several packages. I've used quite a bit of it over the years but still have several sheets left. I'm a blue jeans kind of girl, and this paper is fun, funky and so versatile!

I added gemstones in the top left corner, a pearl in each corner of the focal image and some pretty purple organza ribbon tied in a bow. That's it - wanted to keep it simple.

I spritzed a handmade Perfect Pearls mist onto the image after coloring it. The shimmer is amazing - looks much better in real life! ;)

I would love to enter this awesome note card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock (card base); Crafter's Companion white cardstock (image); DCWV blue shimmer cardstock; purple cardstock from stash
  • Denim paper from stash (I've had it so long I don't remember the brand)
  • Inky Impressions Peace Love Cure digi
  • Copics: YG95/99, BV13/17, RV13/17
  • Handmade Perfect Pearls mist
  • Spellbinders Large Labels, Classic Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles dies
  • Cherry Lynn French Pastry doily die
  • Purple organza ribbon
  • White flat-back pearls; purple gemstones

I really hope you're inspired to dig out those dies and/or punches, and create something fantastic to enter into our challenge this week! Thanks so much for stopping by - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

Bloom Where You're Planted

Hey, everybody! Hope you had a great weekend! We're into the beginning of November (can you believe it?!) and I'm posting my DT inspiration project for Love To Scrap! Challenge Blog LTSCB #17 - Anything Goes! Come play with us! We're being sponsored by the awesome My Crafty Heart!

I dug into my GKD stash and played with the "Falling For You" and "Wild At Heart" stamp sets, used some Pure Luxury ivory, kraft and sweet mango cardstocks, and some gorgeous paper from the "Wishing You Joy" 6x6 paper pack. Oh, and can't forget the fabulous gross grain ribbon from the Grateful Heart StampTV kit! I just love how this inspirational note card turned out - I'm really lovin' these colors! Even with the blooming posies, this card has a definite autumn feel! ;)

All these awesome layers are matted on the sweet mango cardstock which I just love, including the sentiment which is also layered on a lacey circles die cut.

I stamped the flowers again on the inside lower left corner, leaving plenty of room to write a note. The Memento Morocco ink is almost a perfect match to the cardstock!

I'd love to enter this card into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury ivory, kraft and sweet mango cardstock
  • GKD Wishing You Joy 6x6 paper pack
  • GKD Falling For You and Wild At Heart stamp sets
  • Copics: E07, YG17, BV17, YR15
  • Sakura Stardust pen
  • Memento Morocco ink
  • Spellbinders Classic Circles and Lacey Circles dies
  • Orange sherbet flat-back pearls

Hope you've found some inspiration to join the fun and create something for our Anything Goes challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)

1st Annual "Happy Birthday, Shannon!" Blog Hop

This is a big shout-out to our Bombshell boss, the owner of Bombshell Stamps... Happy birthday, Shannon! I hope you have an amazing day! :) Several past and present Bombshells and Pin-Ups have gotten together to have this surprise blog hop in your honor! As a guest designer for Bombshell, I'm very proud to take part!

I used the Pin-Up from the Bombshell Angel stamp set, along with the uber cool Business Bombshell digital dress up stamps! This was so much fun... reminded me of playing paper dolls with my sisters when I was younger! Great memories! :D

The background paper is gorgeous red, white, pink and green floral which I matted on red cardstock. I stamped the Bombshell babe on ivory cardstock, angled the corners, and matted her on red and then on a larger piece of kraft cardstock that I matted on some of the ivory. There is also a pretty punched border from textured green cardstock peeking out from each side. Lots of layers going on here!

I brought the kraft and red colors from the background pieces into her outfit. I created a paper clip and tiny heart and swirl die cuts, all from the red cardstock, and embellished the left side with them, adding a few tiny gemstones and pearls. And I love bows... and this card wouldn't have been complete without a big pretty red one! ;)

On the inside, I repeated the red matting and green textured cardstock punched border (across the bottom this time), and stamped "Bombshell" in red ink on a computer-generated circle sentiment.

I'd love to enter this beautiful bombshell into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • GKD Pure Luxury ivory cardstock; The Paper Cut Brown Bag cardstock; DCWV textured green cardstock; Marcos red cardstock
  • Graphic 45 Bird Song paper collection
  • Bombshell Angel stamp set
  • Copics: E000/33/99, R00/27/32, 100 (black)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink

  • Business Bombshell Digital Dress Up Stamps
  • YNS Your Next Die Clip It die set
  • Spellbinders Classic Circles dies
  • JoAnn Fabrics red double face satin ribbon

Now for the complete blog hop list. If you arrived here from Holley, you're headed in the right direction and your next stop should be Alyssa. If not, you'll want to check out the Bombshell Stamps blog where the hop starts so you don't miss any of these amazing birthday projects!
