Gift Card Wallet

Hi everybody! Now that the holiday rush is over, I want to share the coolest gift card wallet I made for my son - and he absolutely LOVED it! He was formerly in the National Guard/Army so I thought it appropriate to dig into my stash of military papers and embellishments to find just the right stuff to create this wallet to hold a Christmas gift. I kept it fairly simple, using a 3-D Army insignia sticker matted on brown and gold foil circle die cuts, the sentiment stamped on a hand cut dog tag, some embroidered star stickers and flat-back pearls.

I think the gold foil circle die cut was definitely an elegant touch. I attached the dog tag with a small ball chain. I was a little apprehensive about using flat-back pearls on a guy project, but they actually looked great!

Here's a peek at the inside. I used a small circular velcro closure.

And here's the back. Very simple with just a matted strip down one side.

I'd love to enter my gift card wallet into the following challenges:

Recipe:
  • The Paper Cut Brown Bag cardstock; dark brown, dark green and gold foil cardstock from stash
  • Various military papers and embellishments from stash
  • Spellbinders Classic Circles dies
  • Sentiment from the GKD Nature's Greeting stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Tim Holtz Idea-ology ball chain
  • Champagne flat-back pearls
  • Circular velcro closure

Hope you had a beautiful Christmas! Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time! ;)
Hugs,
Leslie

    THAT'S EXTRA!!
not surprised your son liked it, it's great! and the pearls are not feminine at all they are very harmonious with the rest, .
echoing the tag string and also reminding of ceremony uniform buttons. definitely a spectacular project!
