Happy Birthday

** 8/15/13 Monthly Technique Challenge Winner
 at SweetStamps! **

I'm happy to report that I created a card this evening strictly for challenge play and not as a DT inspiration project! Woo-hoo! This was actually very fun and a technique that I have never done before... the dryer sheet technique! Yep, you read it correctly! Love how it turned out and it's probably the best smelling card I've ever made! ;)

The Splitcoast Stampers tutorial for the dryer sheet technique is HERE. I stamped the SweetStamps Square Medallion #1 in Memento Black Tuxedo ink on white cardstock and colored it with several Copics. I ran it upside down through the Xyron, pressed the used dryer sheet onto the Xyron adhesive, trimmed it and added some glitter! I rounded the two bottom corners, matted it and adhered it to a 4.25" square card base with rounded corners.

I stamped SweetStamps Happy Birthday on a horizontal panel on the inside in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and affixed some silver nail heads on each side.

  • GKD Pure Luxury white cardstock; pink patterned cardstock from stash
  • SweetStamps Square Medallion #1 stamp
  • SweetStamps Happy Birthday stamp
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Copics: V17, BV17, B05/95, YG11, RV25, Y11
  • Making Memories light pink glitter
  • Creative Memories corner rounder
  • Mark Richards nail heads

I'd love to enter this pretty card into the following challenges:
