Just because...

I wasn't feeling well this morning and now that I'm able to venture out from the back side of the house, I have several DT inspiration projects to share with you that I created last evening for the current Blockheads Paper Arts Challenge - Textured Paper with Embossing Folders Technique Blog Hop! These wonderful creations are made with TP! Yep, you read it right - toilet paper! Come play with us! What a fun technique! My friend and design teammate, Leigh Snaith-Brunton, is hosting this challenge and has created some absolutely beautiful samples!

Visit the Blockheads Emboss Paper Technique page to see Leigh's tutorial for creating awesome backgrounds using TP and an embossing folder! To take our challenge the traditional way via your blog, create your own project, create a blog post that includes the link code below (this creates links to other participants) and submit your URL. To be fair to all participants, links that don't include the code will be removed. Be sure to submit your URL by June 21st for a chance to win a $25 Blockheads gift certificate! The winner will be selected by our design team.

Here's the link code:
<!-- start InLinkz script -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.inlinkz.com/cs.php?id=157623"></script>
<!-- end InLinkz script -->

To enter this code after composing your post, switch to HTML editing mode by clicking the HTML button on the top left of your post, paste the code immediately following the HTML code already created by Blogger and click the Compose button again.

Note: If you use WordPress, which won't allow script tags, use this code:
<!--start InLinkz script -->
<a href="http://www.inlinkz.com/wpview.php?id=157623"><img style="border:0px"
src="http://www.inlinkz.com/wplmg.php?id=157623"></a>
<!-- end InLinkz script -->

There's another way to take our challenge if you don't have a blog, and that is via our Facebook group! You'll need to join if you're not already a member, then all you need to do is post an image of your project on the group's wall by June 21st. The Facebook winner will get to pick out any 4" x 5" set of Blockheads stamps on cling cushion, and there are some awesome stamps to choose from!

The first picture below shows all four backgrounds I created with the TP - before I started working on them. For my first card, in this post, I used the Cuttlebug Numbers Collage embossing folder for the background, sponged with Ranger Spun Sugar distress ink. For the focal image, I used one of the stamps from the awesome Lost Coast Designs stamp set - Dressforms. I did some paper piecing with a couple different shades of pink cardstock along with a small bit of coloring with an E51 Copic marker. I also used the Lost Coast Designs measuring tape border stamp across the bottom, embossed with Versamark and Ranger black embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Blockheads Verses-Feel Better stamp set. I added some gorgeous WOC flowers, a multi-looped bow with small safety pin and beads, a pink feather and some pink flat-back pearls. I left the inside blank to write my own note.

Recipe:
  • Gina K Designs Pure Luxury ivory and kraft cardstock; Hot Off The Press pink flower mirror cardstock; light and medium shades of pink cardstock
  • Charmin TP
  • Cuttlebug Numbers Collage embossing folder
  • Lost Coast Designs stamp set - Dressforms

I have three more DT inspiration projects for this technique challenge, all created with TP, embossing folders and Blockheads stamps, which I will post separately.

Hugs,
Leslie
